HP W1340 series products chip upgrade notification

 

According to the monitoring of chip suppliers, HP rolled out firmware version 20230729 via WiFi on 29th August 2023 specifically for

printers installed with W1340 series replacement chips. Following this upgrade, certain printers may encounter an error message“Non-HP Black Cartridge”.

【Solution 】

1. The currently shipped HP W1340 series remains unaffected by this firmware upgrade.

2. Some older chips in our W1340, W1350, W1410, and W1420 series may be impacted by the upgrade 

(chip produced before 24th-April 2023). For more details, please contact our sales manager.

3. However, we kindly recommend that you limit sales to managed end-users and discontinue sales to unmanaged users.

4. Please advise end-users not to manually upgrade firmware from the official website and disable the HP Automatic Update to minimize the upgrade risk.

5. If customers have found the involved products cannot be recognized by their applicable printers.
